NFM (News Finds Me)

Solo exhibition, opening February 26, 2026, 7 PM CET. On view through April 8, 2026. Curated by Karin Wimmer. Digital Art Space, Kunstareal München, Amalienstraße 14, 80333 Munich. Supported by Curt Wills Stiftung.

NFM refers to the »news-finds-me« perception—the belief that one is informed without actively seeking information. Within social media feeds, headlines, opinions, and stimuli appear incidentally: filtered, condensed, algorithmically prioritized, and continuously re-situated within shifting contexts. Taking this condition as its point of departure, the exhibition examines how attention has become a form of currency and how private, political, and economic spheres increasingly converge. The exhibition presents selected works from It’s Complicated (2019–2022) and features Systems at Play, an 11-channel sound composition by musician Natalia Kiës. During the opening reception, a reading from Elias Wessel’s art book Textfetzen. It’s Complicated: Texte aus einem a/sozialen Netzwerk 2019–2021. Ist möglicherweise Kunst (Kadmos, 2022) will be performed by a member of the ensemble of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Munich, further extending the exhibition’s inquiry into fragmented communication and networked authorship.
